New Cars 2010/2011: Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

Do you want an SUV or a crossover? Or perhaps maybe you're one of the types who will never in a million years drive anything related to SUV family. If so, Cadillac has the car for you! Packing either a 270 HP 3.0 DI V6 or a3.6 DI V6 making over 300 horses, this little RWD or AWD wagon competes with BMW's 3 Series Touring in the two-car compact luxowagon playing field.
Fit and finish is better than the 3 Series, and unlike the BMW, I can actually sit inside comfortably. The interior has a nice layout, and the quality is vastly improved over older GM models. The BMW, however, takes some getting used to. The seats are too firm, not to mention narrow, the complex buttons are a mess, and for a "sporty" wagon, this doesn't seem to be much "sport" about it, unless you select the accessorized wheels. Although the optional 19s look nice, they destroy ride quality, and will leave your back stiffer than it already was. Unless you like having a good relationship with a chiropractor, I'd stick with the Caddy.
But, unlike the BMW 3 Series lineup, Cadillac's wagon will be able in true sporting trim. No, not a sport package (it's already an option, as is a luxury group, an all-out sporting version is coming. Not satisfied with just the CTS-V, Cadillac is introducing a CTS-V Coupe, and CTS-V Wagon this year, too. And yes, the wagon will be available with 556 horses and stick just like its' sedan stablemate. So, um, BMW, you need to go back to the drawing board, and rethink some ideas.
