Minneapolis Street Sighting: Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible
A scant few post 1960s classics still live up here in salt-hell Minnesota. Of those scant few, it seems I find new cars every summer. This Oldsmobile Delta 88 is no exception. Finished in what could only be described as a 1970s color scheme, the paint on this example was decent. There was no surface rust, and even better, no rust bubbles anywhere. The trim not only was intact, it was all there. Even the factory correct hubcaps were present.
The interior was in pretty nice shape, too, especially considering its age. The seats didn't seem to be worn to smithereens, and the steering wheel didn't look all that bad either. The only thing missing from this example, as far as I'm concerned, is a pair of fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror. Even that is a questionable "modification". I'd leave it as is, and go find a wide open two-lane and just cruise.
